With 24 years experience in talent management and artist representation, Chris is the founder of North Media Talent and as an Agent and Manager discovering fresh talent and representing a combination of new and established presenters. He also consults on a variety of media projects, works as a Presenter coach and is Executive Producer for The Radio Academy which includes Foot in the Door training events and the annual Radio Festival.
Chris’ career began at BBC Radio Clwyd, North Wales at 15 before presenting the BAFTA winning documentary series Ipso Facto for CBBC.
Studying History at De Montfort University he helped set up Demon FM and became a Student Radio Association Regional Officer and then SRA Development Officer.
On graduation he briefly worked for a media sales company before eventually joining The Radio Academy as its Skills Development Officer setting up its successful Masterclass series and cementing the Student Radio Awards as a key event in the radio industry calendar.
In 2000 Chris became an Agent at Wise Buddah before transforming the roster from radio only to a TV, Radio and Voice Over agency as its Head of Talent and subsequently Director of Talent. In 2007 Chris produced the inaugeral Sony Gold Winning Internet Programme Award for ‘Firin’ Squad Unsigned Podcast’.
After setting up North Media Talent, in October 2014 Chris was lucky enough to lead Challenge Radio, the very first pop up radio station for the UK Radio Festival/Radio Academy in Salford Quays. Built over a weekend, broadcasting 12 diverse and original hours of output across the UK and online by a true collaboration of radio industry professionals.
In his spare time Chris also speaks at a number of Universities, organisations and to students about the merit of working in the media industry.
Chris set up Demo Factor (Demo Idol at the time) in 2008 as a small informal demo session held at the SRACon at the University of Bath.
In 2008 Chris became an Honorary Life Member of the Student Radio Association, in 2020 an SRA Advisor and is very proud to be returning as Demo Factor Head Judge.
